Trebitsch Memorial (1932)

The 15th Trebitsch Memorial was played in Café Mariahilf in Vienna, Austria from 5-22 December 1932. It was organized by the Hietzing chess club. Games were played on Mondays (6-11 pm), Tuesdays (6-11 pm), Thursdays (6-11 pm) and Fridays (6-11 pm). Adjourned games were played off on Wednesdays and Sundays. Time control: 2½ hours for the first 40 moves, followed by 1 extra hour every 16 moves. Prizes: 500, 400, 300, 200, 150 and 100 Austrian Schilling for the top 6 players, and for the others, 10 Schilling for beating a prize winner. Albert Becker won the event again, undefeated with 9/11. Number of games played: 66.

The Beauty Prize went to Kmoch vs Simon Rubinstein, 1932. The prize awarding ceremony and a blitz tournament won by Josef Lokvenc was held in Café Mariahilf on Friday 23 December.
