Trebitsch Memorial 1934/35

The 17th Trebitsch Memorial was played in Braunerstrasse 7 (1st floor) in Vienna, Austria from 2 December 1934 to 4 January 1935. It was organized by the Schachverein Hietzing and the Wiener Schachgesellschaft. Games were played on Sundays (5-10 pm), Tuesdays (6-11 pm) and Fridays (6-11 pm), with adjourned games played off on Wednesdays (6-11 pm) and Saturdays (including Saturday 5 January). Time control: 2½ hours for the first 40 moves, then 1 extra hour every 16 moves. Prizes: 500, 300, 200, 100 and 50 Schilling for the top five players, and for the others, 5 Schilling for beating a prize winner. Tournament director: Franz Uhlirsch. Albert Becker won the event for the third time. Number of games played: 120.

At the closing ceremony on 6 January, Becker was awarded the title Champion of Vienna. A giant blitz tournament afterwards was won by Hönlinger.
