Sep-04-05  aw1988: Does anyone know why the organizers are so sexist as to have the nerve to include a women's section?

  Sneaky: Viva la difference!
Sep-04-05  Knight13: Manuel Apicella's gonna lose a log of rating points. And congrats to Joel Lautier!
Sep-05-05  lopium: Sneaky, it's Vive la différence, in French.
Sep-05-05  hayton3: "Aujourd'hui, les femmes travaillent comme des mecs, s'habillent comme des mecs, jurent comme des mecs, conduisent comme des mecs, et après elles s'étonnent qu'on les encule."
Sep-05-05  TruthHurts: <hayton3> LOL.

The most impressive performance in this championship is done by the 14 years old french hope Vachier-Lagrave who finished 3rd gaining 20 elo points. Specially watch his game againts Kosten it is very nice.

Sep-05-05  percyblakeney: <Does anyone know why the organizers are so sexist as to have the nerve to include a women's section?>

It gives more women a better chance to compete for prize money, after all the 38 highest ranked players in France are men.

Sep-05-05  refutor: it's not worth it for guys like bacrot that are rated 100 points more than their contemporaries, to play in an all-play all and need to score an unimaginable score to keep their rating. a lot of times, players (even with white) will be happy to score a draw with a super GM. so this is why players like bacrot, who doesn't particularly have an 11-0 kind of style, don't participate in a tournament like this
Sep-05-05  Brown: J'ai compris tout <hayton3>, mais pas le dernier phrase <"et après elles s'étonnent qu'on les encule."> Vous puvez m'expliquer?
Sep-05-05  Brown: What's up with Sokolov, is he Dutch or French?
Sep-05-05  sneaky pete: <Brown> Former Russian Andrei Sokolov is now French, former Bosnian Ivan Sokolov is Dutch.
Sep-05-05  Brown: <sneaky pete> Thanks for the clarification. Ivan is the better known, yes, once being in the top 15 or so?
Sep-05-05  hayton3: <Brown> Your request for a translation on that last French sentence: "and then they wonder why we take them up the s**t*r!"
Sep-06-05  Queens Gambit: I have a question <TruthHurts>, why Bacrot didnt participate here??? he its the best french player and well i was hoping to see him playing and winning here.
Sep-06-05  Queens Gambit: <refutor< says something logical , but thats the truth of Bacrot not participating??
Sep-06-05  lopium: Brown, la dernière phrase veut dire... hmm ! And after they are surprised that we ... them. (like f**k, but on the back side). You've learnt polite French, nobody speak like that, unless the President Jacques Chirac and true richs that I never saw.
Sep-06-05  hayton3: <nobody speak like that> The verb 'enculer' is used everyday in France. Yes it is rude but it's frequently encountered vernacular at every level of society.
Sep-06-05  lopium: I wasn't speaking about this verb, which is used by a lot of people, I was speaking about the French of Brown, but anyway if he was talking to many people, it's all right. Unless he asked to someone in particular. Ahahz!
Sep-06-05  TruthHurts: <Queens Gambit>, because Bacrot won 5 times in a row the french championship, he has nothing to proove there anymore and he wants now to concentrate himself only on really big top events. Bacrot is at a new stage of his career, doing good performances at Dortmund, Corus etc is now what he expects and he wants to focus on top events, like Leko or Topalov for example, who don't participate to there own championships and not even to international events like team european cup or olympiads, which Bacrot even still do by the way ... Top events are hard and they need high preparation and motivation, to play well there you have to focus on this events like overs top GM's do. Also Bacrot is tired, you can't play all the events, Bacrot played a lot this days ...

The elo is also a reason but not so much, because he also participates in french league and cup where he faces sometimes lowest rated opponents (talking about 2500 and middle 2600 opponents), and because french championships was even though a 2560 average tourney ( and with Bacrot's rating it would even aproche the 2600 average, and players like Lautier Fressinet, Sokolov or even Nataf who was ot there, are 2600 players against whom he usually plays...)

Sep-06-05  Sonic Adventure: Well, you know what they say,

"As your elo goes up, so does your ego"

Sep-07-05  THE pawn: <Hayton3> hahaha. Par contre, j'ai des doutes à savoir si ça répond à la question:'' pourquoi a-t-on fait deux classes différentes durant le championnat. Sexisme?''

Say, does somebody here know if Maxime Vachier-Lagrave became a Gm with this tournament. Now that his extremely impressive performance gave him 20 elo points, I guess it makes him a GM no???

Sep-07-05  hayton3: <THE pawn> Plutot une reponse indirecte qui sert, a travers l'humour, de moqueur ceux dont nous qui crient "sexisme" a chaque opportunite.
Sep-08-05  TruthHurts: <The pawn>, Vachier-Lagrave did his final GM norm this year in Febuary already, at 14 yearsold and 4 months. HIs title was officially given by the fide 2 weeks agoo.
Feb-26-06  Minotaurus: Who cares about frenchy GMs??

Bacrot is supposed to be the best of them, and cant achieve nothing but disgraces.

Feb-27-06  LancelotduLac: <can't achieve nothing but disgraces>

Ahh, I should have known ... Minotaurus is the latest <truthhurts> creation. Laughable if it wasn't so sad.
