Trebitsch Memorial (1931)

The 14th Trebitsch Memorial was held in Vienna, Austria from 4 May to 1 June 1931. Games were played on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 5:30 to 10:30 pm. Adjourned games were played off on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The 1st round game Koenig vs Steiner was played on 19 May. The amateur player Metanomski was a last minute replacement for Hans Kmoch. Prize fund: 2300 Schilling. First prize: 800 Schilling. No draw offers before move 30 without the consent of the arbiter. Chief arbiter: Adolf Zinkel. The tournament did not end until 5 June because of adjourned games. Number of games played: 91.

A Beauty Prize donated by Ernst Kornfeld was awarded to Steiner for his 5th round game against Lokvenc.
