Call it "Chess 101." Here's an introduction to a simple group of problems. The theme? The loser had a weakness or inability to protect his first rank. (Naturally, most of these examples were culled from the daily puzzles here at "Chess Games.")

These will range in difficulty from "Very Easy" to downright difficult.
