IM Nadezhda Kosintseva was born Jan-14-1985 in Russia. Her March 2011 FIDE Rating 2567, number 5 in the world.

A prolific champion of junior chess, she has an enviable history at the European Youth Chess Championship, taking gold medals in 1995 (Girls Under-10, Verdun), 1997 (Girls Under-12, Tallinn) and 2000 (Girls Under-18, Kallithea). There were silver and bronze medals at the other age groups too. At the World Youth Chess Championship of 1998, held in Oropesa del Mar, she took the gold medal in the Girls Under-14 event. She was twice the bronze medalist at the World Junior Chess Championship (Girls, Under-20) in 2001 and 2002.

World Championships:

Nadezhda was eliminated by Yifan Hou in the 2006 FIDE Women's World Championship played in Ekaterinburg, RUS: Women's World Championship Knockout Tournament (2006)/Nadezhda Kosintseva. The FIDE KO Champion is Yuhua Xu.

She scored +4-2=6 in the 2008: Women's World Championship Knockout Tournament (2008)/Nadezhda Kosintseva in Nalchik, RUS. Nadezhda was eliminated in the third round. The event was won by Alexandra Kosteniuk who defeated Hou Yifan in the finals to become the 2008 Women's World Chess Champion.

She scored (+5-1=5) in the 2003 European Championship (Women) (2003)/Nadezhda Kosintseva played in Istanbul TUR.

She scored +6-0=6 in the 2005 European Championship (Women) (2005)/Nadezhda Kosintseva played in Chisinau Moldova. She lost the playoff to Kateryna Lahno 6th EU-ChW playoffs (2005).

She score (+3-5=3) in the 2006 European Championship (2006)/Nadezhda Kosintseva played in Kusadasi, TUR.

She scored +5-0=6in the 2007 European Championship (Women) (2007)/Nadezhda Kosintseva played in Dresden GER. The tournament was won by her sister Tatiana Kosintseva who became the new European Women's Champion.

Russian Women's Champion 2008. (No games available).

The 60th Russian Women's Chess Championship Super Final took place in the Moscow Central House of Chess from November 16 to 27.
