Nana Alexandria beat Milunka Lazarevic by a score of 5.5 - 4.5 after 10 rounds from August throughout September at Bladel and Alla Kushnir beat Tatiana Zatulovskaya by a score of 5.5 - 4.5 at Minsk in August and September.

The finals match: A Kushnir vs N Alexandria, 1971 at Kislovodsk later was played through 9 rounds in November and December, in which Kushnir won by a score of 6.5 - 2.5 before the Game Collection: 1972 World (women) chess championship took place.
