d3 in the Italian, 2 Knights and Spanish
Compiled by choumicha

If you want to play as White the open games but want to avoid heaps of theory, than an early d3 in the Italian Game (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Bc5), the Two Knights Defense (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6) or the Spanish/ Roy Lopez (1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5) is obvious solution. In these openings it is more about long term plans than "silly" tactics and the excact knowledge of the sequenze of opening moves. A serious word of warning. Real good players are always very good at slow play. Beginners and normal gifted players often overrate their skills in positional play. My results with these openings are very poor. With this collection I want to look for paradigma games that will learn me to play them better!
