Introduction
The first round of the competition for the amateur championship of Yorkshire will be commenced this evening. (1)

Amateur Championship of Yorkshire.—First prize, the "Fattorini Trophy," consisting of a set of ivory chessmen and board and the Y.C.C.C. medal; second, silver medal. (2)

This competition was also continued on Saturday. Woollard beat Miss Thorold, Bennett beat J. S. West. (3)

Conclusion
Play in the final tie for the amateur championship of Yorkshire, the Yorkshire County Chess Club Championship Medal, and the honour of holding for twelve months the "Fattorini Trophy," was commenced at the Sun Hotel, on Wednesday night, and adjourned, after forty-two moves had been made, until Thursday night, when the game was completed. (4)
