  1. 2001 African Championship (& play-offs)
    <under construction>

    Hamdouchi beat Kobese 1.5-0.5 in the play-off. Is Tissir - Rizouk (as indicated in its pgn) also part of this event (it says it occurred on 25 September).

    Held from the 16th-25th of September.

    93 games, 2001

  2. 2001 American (women's) continental chess champ
    <under construction>

    Held at Merida Venezuela in September.

    http://ratings.fide.com/tournament_...

    18 players, or 9 boards/round x 9 rounds = 81 games played, maximum. Perhaps there are as many as 5 (=81-76) games missing or unplayed (possibly due to byes) - <I checked for all the uploaded games present here to confirm that no others were loaded into the database as per 25 June 2015>. FIDE did not seem to have rated all of the games on their site.

    76 games, 2001

  3. 2001 American Continental championship
    <under construction>

    Held at Cali, Colombia in August.

    http://ratings.fide.com/tournament_...

    ~130 players /2 x 11 rounds ~= 700+ games.

    A supplementary collection would probably be necessary if all the games were found (limit ~400 games/collection currently), and I could ALSO use a bit of assistance collecting OTHER games from just this tournament (perhaps in the future the admins would allow 2 collections to be nominated in a merge into the same tid page).

    443 games, 2001

  4. 2001 American open
    <under construction>

    Held at Los Angeles, California, USA.

    Held in November (and perhaps (?!) December), 2001: http://ratings.fide.com/tournament_...

    ~80 players /2 x 8 rounds ~= 300+ games.

    A supplementary collection would probably be necessary if all the games were found (limit ~400 games/collection currently), and I could ALSO use a bit of assistance collecting OTHER games from just this tournament (perhaps in the future the admins would allow 2 collections to be nominated in a merge into the same tid page).

  5. 2001 Canadian championship
    <under construction>

    http://chess.ca/crosstable?tourname...

    Lesiege and Spraggett met in the 4th round of the championship, and drew their game, eventually settling for a tie at the top of the cross-table. They eventually played a series of quicker time-control matches to decide who would win the qualifying seat and prize distribution.

    Some of the other games are included below the play-off match series as well.

    Game Collection: 2000 Capablanca memorial (elite) , Game Collection: 2000 Capablanca memorial (premier - I) and Game Collection: 2000 Capablanca memorial (premier - II) were the previous installments of the various sections.

    Game Collection: 2002 Capablanca memorial (elite) and Game Collection: 2002 Capablanca memorial (group II) were the next installments of (some of) the various sections.

    http://torneocapablanca.inder.cu/re... was the website of the 2014 Capablanca memorial (in what is presumed to be Spanish - maybe google translate will bring up information about previous years).

    No modifications to the days, months or rounds of the tournament was made (perhaps chessgames.com can trust its own data which was supplied at the time of upload of the pgn source, (which would've been widely available on the Internet that year, but which might not be distributed from the same FTP source or whatever as today's - due to age of computer server life, etc)) during the creation of this collection. The player list was found from the FIDE site above, and cross-checked to see that the respective players were inserted into the section for this year's event.
