  1. An invitation to the King's Indian
The King's Indian has to be one of the most fascinating openings and here it is, in all its glory, through 101 games.

This is hardly enough to understand this amazing opening but I hope the tactics, strategy and ideas exhibited in these games will convince a few people to try it out.

  2. Miniatoures in the Fianchetto Philidor
After 1. e4 d6 2. d4 Nf6 3. Nc3 e5 4. Nf3 Nbd7 the most frequently played move for white is 5. Bc4. However, 5. g3 is a solid option and this collection contains miniatures in the Fianchetto Philidor to show just how dynamic this system can be
    65 games, 1971-2023

  3. My Favorite King's Gambit Games
"In a gambit you give up a Pawn for the sake of getting a lost game" - Samuel Boden

"The delight in gambits is a sign of chess youth... In very much the same way as the young man, on reaching his manhood years, lays aside the Indian stories and stories of adventure, and turns to the psychological novel, we with maturing experience leave off gambit playing and become interested in the less vivacious but withal more forceful manoeuvres of the position player." - Emanuel Lasker

"What is the object of playing a gambit opening? To acquire a reputation of being a dashing player at the cost of losing a game" - Siegbert Tarrasch

"In my opinion the King's Gambit is busted. It loses by force" - Bobby Fischer

The King's Gambit is probably my favorite opening. Therefore it is only natural that I cite quotes that are bashing it. Of course the intro to this collection cannot ONLY be criticism. God knows there is plenty of that about this particular gambit on the internet.

So instead let me end with my favorite quote on the Gambit, coming from a very interesting and controversial book (a personal favorite)

"If there is a correct move after 1. e4 e5 it has to be 2. f4, since 2. Nf3 limits further agression in the centre because the f2 pawn will not be able to participate. Since 2. f4 is not feasible, it is likely that 1. e4 is WRONG" - Hans Berliner, "The System", Chapter 2, p. 43
