  1. Heartlandchess' favorite games
    1 game, 1938

  2. Knight and Bishop Mate
I have chosen these games as examples of endgame technique. There are some games in this database where the losing side of a K+B+N versus K endgame resigns too quickly for the game to be illustrative of how to win (why insult Boris Spassky by staying in the game?) and others where the "winner" doesn't really look like they know what they are doing but their opponent apparently resigned just to be gracious. Not all of the technique displayed in this collection is perfect. Sometimes, the winner gets the job done after making some mistakes. But all of these games display successful execution of this difficult mating pattern without an early resignation from the losing side.
    15 games, 1949-1999
