Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-29-02  ughaibu: Today's Janowski game.
Nov-29-02  pawntificator: Oh, that Alekhine. What a patzer! :)
Nov-30-02  drukenknight: any comments/suggetions for black's 37th?
Dec-01-02  pawntificator: I have a comment/suggestion for blacks 37th. It was a bad move and he should have played 37...Rf7 38 Bxh6 Qxh6 38 Rg6 Qh5 or something like that
Dec-01-02  ughaibu: 38. Rg7 followed by Nf6 winning the queen. Or maybe Nf6 followed by Rg7, anyway taking the knight looks pretty much compulsory.
Dec-01-02  pawntificator: yep, good eye, I didn't see that stupid forkin knight
Sep-20-06  percyblakeney: Janowski had a decent lifetime score against Alekhine, +3 -4 =2. Here he wins in what was on the way to be one of his last rather successful tournaments when it was interrupted by the war:

Jan-08-09  notyetagm: Janowsky could really play some chess.
Apr-21-09  vonKrolock: <35...♕g5>? Was Alekhine just "playing with fire" - or he overlooked white's 40th move!? - Anyway, the fireworks from now on are very pleasant... Each white move deserved at least one <!>

Maybe hoping for 40.♕xd4?? ♗xf4+ 41. ♖7g3+ ♗e5 etc . But...

Jul-11-12  Wyatt Gwyon: Janowski might be a bit underrated.
