Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-21-05  Saruman: Anderssen overestimates his attack.
May-07-07  wolfmaster: Crafty, can White win this endgame a rook up?
May-21-18  JPi: 29.f3? doesn't look in the spirit of the previous so well played moves. Why not simply 29.h5 ? 29...c5 30.h6 b4 31.h7 Or 29...Rg5 30.h6 Rh5 31.Re5+ RxR 32.BxR Bf5 33.g4 Bh7 (More subtle is 33...KxB 34.gxB Kf6! 35.f3 c3 36.Kf2 c2 still 37.Rg1! d2 38.h7) 24.f4 c5 25.Kf2 White should win.

  MissScarlett: I thought de Riviere vs Anderssen, 1858 was problematic, but the score given in the February (?) 1859 <CPC>, p.56, presents a radical departure starting with:

<24...Nxe5 25.Bxe5+ Kc6 26.Bc3 b5 27.f3 Kc5 28.a3 a6 29. g4 Kd6 30.Ra2 c5 31.Rb2 Kc6 32.Kf2 a5 33.h4 b4 34.Bf6 c3 35.Rbb1 d2 36.Rh1 c2 37.h5 Bc4 38.h6 Bd3 And our copy states that White [i.e., Black] eventually won.>

Not sure how to tackle this one, but finding a published record of this 53-move version would be a good start.
