Aromian now played 11...Re8.

The best part of this game is an attack with queen and knight made by Anderssen between moves 29 and 40.

Honza Cervenka: 17.Bd2 would have been better. Later Anderssen missed much better 25...Re2! allowing white to come back into the game but Neumann underestimated a danger coming from Queen's raid via Queenside and carelessly went for trade of both Rooks by 27.Rbe1? instead of more cautious 27.Qf2. Black Queen with Knight became monster after that. Anyway, it is quite surprising to see how much popular recently have become such an old and long time forgotten stuff like 5.Re1 line in Berlin Rio gambit, which was a great theme in 1886 match of Steinitz with Zukertort.
