Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-07-05  Queens Gambit: Nice game
Oct-07-05  Brown: Aagaard points out in "Excelling at Chess Combinations" (or something like that) that Kasparov had the Q trapped with 25.Nd6!. After 25...Bxd6 26.exd6 there is no stopping Ra3. Apparently Garry wasn't happy missing this.
Oct-07-05  Brown: <ThomYork> Check out Aagaard's book, so you can verify my source material. Kasparov was said to be miffed that he did not notice the Q-trap, which ends the game quicker and cleaner than his method.
Sep-09-09  nelech: instead of 29... Qxç4 why not 29... Rxb3 30 axb3 Qa3 ?
Dec-03-09  Skakalec: <nelech>: "instead of 29... Qxç4 why not 29... Rxb3 30 axb3 Qa3 ?" Probably because of Qg3 Ke8 Qg8 Bf8 Rg7
Dec-20-10  Xeroxx: <25.Nd6!. After 25...Bxd6 26.exd6 there is no stopping Ra3. Apparently Garry wasn't happy missing this.>

Not quite. Black can throw in Bxc4 saving the queen. Black is still much worse of course. But personally I prefer Nf6+.

Game Collection: BLOCK THE GUARD LINE! BLOCK THE GUARD LINE! Kasparov missed(!) 25 Ne4-d6! , blocking guard line to a3-sq

Apr-07-16  clement41: Sweet finish, nice king walk
Apr-04-18  tigreton: Clearly, the first thing Kasparov looks at is a hunt of enemy's king, so it's not strange that he spotted 25. Nf6+ and, in view that it worked, he forgot about other possibilities. Personally, I prefer the move Kasparov made, it's much nicer.
Apr-11-18  machak: <notyetagm> it;s not queen thats trapped, it's the bishop. Anyway, stockfish gives Nd6 +2.8 and Nf6+ +3.2, so, don't think Garry was unhappy or missed the move.
Jul-13-19  Patzer Natmas: Game featured in New in Chess - Tactics Training - Garry Kasparov"
