Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-04-08  ToTheDeath: 13...Bf6?! Unwisely delaying castling to pressure White's center.

14.d5! Kasparov's patented QID breakthrough sacrifices a pawn for superior development and attacking chances.

16...Kf8 probably forced. Putting a bishop or knight on e7 allows 17.c4! opening the long diagonal with tempo.

22....h5? allows the rook to penetrate to the seventh. 22...b5! 23.Qc2 h5 and White appears to have no decisive continuation.

The rest of the game is an efficent mop up operation by Kasparov, whose record against the Queen's Indian is truly phenomenal- the database credits him with 38 wins in this opening, 32 draws and only 5 losses to world class opposition- Petrosian, Karpov (twice), Korchnoi and Kramnik.

Aug-27-10  Xeroxx: shame about h5.
