Feb-16-05  ZhurLi: look at that black king's long march to victory, from g8 to f1!
Jun-02-15  ToTheDeath: Poor Bent got overpowered here. Playing Karpov in his prime was rarely ever fun.

offramp: "Active", says the game header.

I seem to remember this as a short-lived attempt to involve computers in a chess game in a benign way, in that players played in tandem with a computer program; a concept which has disappeared from all but the most avaricious players' repertoires.

Jun-02-15  Retireborn: <offramp> You're thinking of "advanced" chess; Kasparov and Topalov played such a match in 1998, but I can't imagine old-timers like Larsen and Karpov wanting to do so!

As far as I know "active" just means "rapid" (30 mins each). This game was played in Roquebrune, not Monaco, according to Chessbase.

offramp: Yes, that's right, <retireborn>, this was indeed a standard 30 minute rapid.
