Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-09-08  whiteshark: This game was from a six-board clock simultaneous against the Argentine national team. Back then Spangenberg was a 2,565-rated grandmaster, but he was still slaughtered.

Already worse, black compounded matters with <15... Bd6?> losing two tempi since if <16... Bxh2+ 17 Kh1 Bd7 18 g3 Bc6 19 d5> wins a piece. At the end, Black is losing a whole rook.

Mar-09-08  Augalv: This is an interesting game I didn't know about.
Mar-09-08  Bobsterman3000: <whiteshark> Do you know Kasparov's results across the 6 boards?

Mar-12-08  whiteshark: <Bobsterman3000> No names so far, but

"On this occasion, Kasparov played against six grandmasters, scoring three wins and three draws on the first day's play and three wins, two draws and one loss on the second. Final score: Kasparov 8.5 - Argentina 3.5"
