  plang: 6 Qc2 was a new move; 6 c5 had been played previously. After 13..Ng5! it would have been bad for White to take the c-pawn: 14 Bxc5..Bxc5 15 Nxc5..Nd4 16 Nxd4..Qxh2+ 17 Kf1..Qxg2+ 18 Ke2..Qxf2+ 19 Kd1..Qxd4 20 Nxb7..Nf2+ 21 Ke2..Nxd3 22 Qxd3..Qxb2+ 21 Kf1..Qxb7. Goldenov's choice 14 Nc3? was not much better; Ftanco suggested 14 Qc3!?..Nxe3 15 Qxg7..0-0-0 though Black would have had clear compensation for the pawn.
