Aug-28-07  lopium: The only move here for white is 24.f5 but then Rg5, and whatever white's play, Nxf2 mate.
Aug-29-07  sanyas: Very hypermodern!
Aug-29-07  euripides: if <24.f5> Black also has 24...Nxf2+ (24...Rg5 25.h4 comes to the same thing but slightly messier) 25.fxg6 Qh1 mate.
Aug-29-07  sanyas: Why not 11.♗xf3?
Aug-29-07  laskereshevsky: <sanyas>

Maybe cause after 11...♕a5+ 12.♗d2 ♕xe5 is check (+) and the black gain at least another ♙ ...

Aug-29-07  sanyas: Aha! The open king file forces the opening of the king's knight file!

plang: 6 exd was premature; 6 c4 first would have made more sense so that Black cannot recapture with the queen. 7 Nc3 helped Black develop. After 10 dxe? White was already much worse; 10 0-0 was better. Reti could have won a piece by playing 14..Qd6 (15 Bg5..Qg6 16 Qc1..h6) or also a move later 15..Qd6.
