Jun-04-04		Whitehat1963: Tal's games always look incredible to me. He seems to see and execute plans that I couldn't possibly come up with even with the aid of a computer. And this isn't even a great example of it. He was simply an unpredictable magician.

Jun-04-04		drukenknight: White: It's not that incredible, Bronstein just messed up right near the end, study it for yourself and always remember when writing comments: ignore your opponents blunders and use plenty of !s for your moves.

Jun-04-04		drukenknight: Thinking of that lateral move by the rook, I am playing spanish more and that lateral movement of the Rook keeps coming back. Last night I did a Bird's defense; and seemed to be under attack but then I got the R to f2 where it hit the K on h2. A few games later, another spanish w/ f6 and I had this pawn wall moving forward w/ black pawns on d4/e5/c6 and my K in the middle; as soon as they exchanged my rooks would check his K; but he got his R to h6 for perpetual check, (involving a hurdle on the k)

Jun-04-04		weirdoid: For all the imperfections of his games, I still find it incredible that Tal managed to pull it off so often. Sure, his opponents often erred, but I don't think I would be able to so often create opportunities for my opponents to err on the beauty side (as Tal himself said, there were two kinds of sacrifices, correct ones and his). Strangely, he did not seem to be the only one of that kind. Lasker reputedly often erred on purpose just to invite his opponents to make bigger errors - and usually they did! Myself, however much I like Tal's games, I guess I always play like a very poor man's Petrosian instead.

Dec-21-04		InspiredByMorphy: Couldnt 15. ...Bxe5 have been played effectively? If 16.Qh5+ Qf7 17.Qxf7+ Kxf7 and the potential pin on blacks bishop is gone. If 16.Rae1 d6 17.f4 Bd4+ . Im must be missing something...
