Phony Benoni: At first glance, it's difficult to decide if this is a brilliant masterpiece or a humorous blunderfest. Of course the opening settles that question, but it's still ... uh, something.

The fun really starts after White, in preference to losing a piece, decides to sacrifice his queen instead. It turns out to work pretty well, and White probably should have won at some point, But in the positions they get into, it's hard to be critical.

Don't miss the finish.

Breunor: For white, 41 Rg5 and it is all over. Black king goes to the fourth rank and then 42 Qd4 check wins the rook at least.
Oct-25-22  Honey Blend: I would've taken the rook: 32. ♔xf2 ♕f6+ 33. ♔e2 ♕xd8 34. ♖b7 threatening both ♖xf7+ and c7.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Flawed, true, but very exciting. 24.Bc6 and 44...Rh3+ are both great ideas and a lot of fun to see.

In my playing days, sometimes got into insane brawls that would bring a large number of spectators--all of whom would leave the hall in order to laugh out loud at the messes my opponents and I had created. Bet this game also attracted a large number of spectators.

  piltdown man: Fantastic game!
Oct-25-22  goodevans: Well, I like 22.Qxa7 even if SF doesn't. Very ingenious.

Bit of a shame White wasn't able fully capitalise on his inventiveness but a great game all the same.

41 Rb5

Oct-25-22  ChessIsLife159753: 44...Rh3+!! 45.Bxh3.Qh2+! 46.Kxh2 stalemate is not something you can see instantly. Kudos to Tozer for finding this ingenious combination.
