Kibitzer's Corner
Jan-08-07  micahtuhy: Alekhine's Defense! You don't see that too often! Perhaps this is the reason why. . . . still, its always fun to see a rarely used once popular opening like Alekhine's used.
Jan-08-07  Pounamu Knight: From the get-go, Leko pushed! Xcellent win!!
Jan-09-07  Ulhumbrus: 9...a5 disturbs the pawns on the Queen side where it is White who has the initiative. 13...once again advances a Queen side pawn, instead of preparing ...e5 and ...f5 . The advnce b4 prepares c5, attacking the Nb6 defending the Bd7. Ivanchuk's main mistake appears to be to have spent time playing on the Queen side instead of preparing ...e5 and ...f5.
Jan-11-07  Salazar: Ivanchuk... Ivanchuk... ni el reloj sostiene...
Jun-02-07  ksadler: I agree Ulhumbrus...9. .. a5 seems a little premature. I prefer in this line to work in the middle as well with either 9. .. e5 or 9. .. f5.
