Mateo: Carlsen outplayed in the middlegame Krasenkow, showing he was clearly a player of an upper class than his opponents.

23...♘g4? was the beginning of Black problems after 24.♘fd2!. If 24...♘gxf2 25.♘xd6 wins for White. Then it was a forced variation. Until Krasenkow blundered with 26...♕c6? losing a pawn. Somewhat better was 26...♕d7 27.♗xd5 exd5 28.♗xd2 ♕xd6, although Black's position seems very difficult to hold. White should have good winning propects.

Apr-27-07  Strongest Force: Black had much the better of it after 15 moves. Black had great pressure on the q-side which should have been good enough for at-least a draw. However, black forgot about the q-side play & transfered the q-knight to the K-side & the rest was history.
Apr-27-07  newton296: the dutch was a bovotnik favorite due to its counterattacking nature. If you think about it, it's basically a mirror image of the sicilian but with blacks king more exposed due to f pawn push. that being said , krasenkow plays dutch nice here and has the better game probably until move 18 when I think he disapates his Q side pressure after investing in 4 knight moves in a row only to trade his knight on the king side for a knight ? what was the point of all those moves!? seems to be a waste of precious time to me. Carlson shows his class by exploiting the wasted moves with a nice Q sak to win a pawn! Also move 29)d5 offering his a1R for the bishop was sweet!
Aug-22-07  champsylove: After watching Bourne Ultimatum, I can't get away from the fact that Mr. Magnus Carlsen esquire has a minor resemblance to a certain Mr. Matt Damon. He plays chess with the same lethal precision that Bourne makes targets.:)
Sep-01-07  BAG: Hmmm I dont think he looks like Matt Damon, maybe a bit. In the Borne Whatever movies the hero uses various household objects like a book or a pen and turns them into deadly spy killing weapons...
Oct-09-09  denver8: Mickie really good player
Aug-13-17  Dave12: 29.d5 is very nice
