Aug-27-09  birthtimes: This was payback for Chajes strong win over Capa two years earlier...nice bump and grind endgame by Capa as he sensed that Chajes would eventually crack...Capa inflicted torture on White's isolated d-pawn, then was given a passed b-pawn which he beautifully provided escort for down to his 7th rank, and soon after it was all over.

  Volcach: Instructive moments for me:

<44 Ne6!> I was really impressed by the Knight shifts this game, constantly bodying the White Rooks from their infiltration ideas.

<62 Ne7 -c8 -b6> Great circuit for the Knight

<66 Nb6!> Wanting to keep the d4 Pawn blockaded as long as possible

DaltriDiluvi: In the final position, Black is threatening <82...g3+> followed by <83...Rh1#>. There's no decent defense.
