An Englishman: Good Evening: Saw the first three moves of the combination (with 37.Nxe3) but not far enough to realize it was correct. Eh, bien.

scormus: The B moves were all straightforward to find, but I don't know why W replied 37 Kxe3 instead of Nxe3, it looked suicidal (37 ... Qxc3+ etc.) Also thought 40 ... Qxg2 was rather a prosaic way to secure the win. I think Judit might have played 40 ... Bb4 or ... Nxf3

Teyss: Quite straightforward. Black is already an exchange better so giving it back to finally remain a piece up is logical.

<scormus: (...) I don't know why W replied 37 Kxe3 instead of Nxe3, it looked suicidal> Indeed, 37.Nxe3 still loses but holds longer: 37...Bxc5 (pinning the N) 38.Ke2 (unpinning) Qe5 (pinning again, on the file this time) and the WQ or WB cannot defend.

<I think Judit> Good one. Technically Judit could have played against her namesake even though she didn't. https://www.chessgames.com/perl/che...

Jan-30-25  King.Arthur.Brazil: Today, the king didn't catch anything. I tried the line with "different" 36...Bxc5?? 37. Bxc5 Qxc3 38. Be3 Rxe3 39. Nxe3 Qd2+ which is nonsense, because the direct sac Rxe3 is much more clear and win. That's why I removed my post.
