Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-19-10  ounos: 58. Bh8 would be more fun
Nov-19-10  Eyal: A comedy of errors at the end, but that's blitz in tactically tricky positions. White's position looks desperate once he lets Black play 53...Qe2 (for example, 55...Be3+! could have been a nice way to finish the game, since White has to give up the queen or get mated - 56.Nxe3 Qh2#); 57...Qc2 (instead of ...Nd2!), however, suddenly allows White to win with 58.Bh8, but Qa8 instead leads to immediate mate. Earlier, btw, Black missed an opportunity to win a piece with the intermediate check 37...Bxe4+! after 37.Rxb8?? - an example of how automatic a recapture often is.

Don't miss the handshake at the end of the game: http://video.russiachess.org/browse..., 14:07:35.

Dec-15-11  fisayo123: 58. Bh8 is unstoppable?
