chrisowen: Pot hmm net c6 no x
May-31-24  Allderdice83: A nice double-deflection tactic. Whether Black takes the queen or the bishop, control of the d8 square is weakened so Black can't interpose there. Or 27 ... Qd8 28. Qc5+ Kf8 29. Rc8. Or maybe the prettiest line: 27...Rd8 28. Qe7+ Kg8 29. Rc7 Rf8 30. Qxf8+! Kxf8 31. Rc8+ and mate in one.
May-31-24  Allderdice83: The exchange on f6 ended up being deadly to Black. (Even more so, delaying castling until he couldn't anymore).
May-31-24  mel gibson: Fairly easy today.

Stockfish 16.1 says:

27. Rxc6

(27. Rxc6 (1.Rxc6 Qd8 2.Qc5+ Kg8 3.Rc8 Kh7 4.Bxd7 Qxf6 5.Rxh8+ Qxh8 6.Qe7 Kg7 7.Bxe6 Qf8 8.Qd7 Kf6 9.Bxd5 Qe7 10.Qxe7+ Kxe7 11.Re1+ Kf6 12.Re8 Kf5 13.Bxf7 Kxf4 14.Bxg6 h4 ) +41.23/43 323)

score for White +41.23 depth 43.

May-31-24  Damenlaeuferbauer: After long thinking, the strong Czech GM Viktor Laznicka finally found the nice queen sacrifice 27.Rxc6!,Rxa7 (27.-,Bxa4 28.Rc8+,Rd8 29.Rxd8+,Qe8 30.Qe7+!,Kg8 31.Qxe8+,Kh7 32.Qxh8#) 28.Rc8+,Rd8 29.Rxd8#. More Monday or Tuesday than Friday!
May-31-24  King.Arthur.Brazil: Maybe: 27. Qxd7 Bxd7 28. Bxd7 Qd8 29. Rc8 Qxc8 30. Bxc8 Ke8 31. Rc1 Kd8 32. Bxa6 Kd7 33. Bb5+ Kd8 ...
May-31-24  lentil: The potential for a back-rank mate was obvious. I just had to sort out the available tactics. I did ultimately arrive at 27 Rxc6. Yay me.
