Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-14-12  Jamboree: 24. e5? was a dubious break. No real need for it, and nothing was achieved except losing a pawn. Why play it if there are no tactics flowing from it, nor any strategic advantage? Just leave the center locked and let black suffer. Too impatient. Instead, something like 24. Ne4 or even 24. h4 both look feasible.
Nov-14-12  Gilmoy: 40.fxe3 Rxb4!! queening: it's <mutual threat> for an R trade (one or the other), and White can't stop both pawns.

The limp 40..Bxa1 41.Rxc2 Bb2 works also. We're cutting lines today!

If White declines the R, 40.Rxa2 Rxb4 mate threat! and a piece up

Nov-16-12  sofouuk: <Jamboree: 24. e5? was a dubious break>the problem is that white is under pressure due to the positional threat of Nd7/e5/d3. e.g. 24.Nd4 Ne5! (covering c6) 25.f3 Nfd7 (here comes the other one) 26.Rf1 (it will have to move anyway) Nc5 27.Nge2 Ned3

there is no obvious breakthrough yet for black, but grandmasters will take extreme measures to avoid such positions. note that the Nd4 is paralyzed on due threats against b2
