Kibitzer's Corner
Nov-19-15  TheFocus: From a simultaneous exhibition in Schenectady, New York on January 13, 1909.

Capablanca scored +30=0-0.

May-15-19  PJs Studio: The Schenectady Chess club is a very small club located 180 or so miles north of NYC. It has bounced around a few locations in just the last thirty years. They have rarely even had a single master play in any of their events or Championships.

I’ve been a member and played in their championships for many, many years. An interesting tidbit about the Schenectady CC however; due to the fact they did not close, nor suspend their Championships during the US Civil War, nor in either world war, it is the second continuous running chess championship in the WORLD(!) Starting in the early 1800’s.
