Fusilli: Not looking at this game in any depth, but... really? You can play ...h6, ...g5, ...0-0, and beat a former world champion? I guess Anand got bamboozled and forgot to develop. By move 15 his pieces are awkwardly placed.

An Englishman: Good Afternoon: Had you shown me the position after 8...0-0 asked me to guess the players, would have suggested 2 eight-year-olds in their first tournament. Chess has changed so much at the top levels since my playing days.
Jun-26-19  SChesshevsky: Anand not having a good 2019 so far. At Lindores he looked kind of preoccupied during play. Maybe business interests or something are taking some attention away from his game. Hopefully he can turn it around second half of the year.
Jun-27-19  Ulhumbrus: The pair of pawn advances ...h6 and ...g5 may gain Black space instead of exposure if he can get away with it and this suggests that Nepomniachtchi has prepared for this game by acquiring knowledge of when or under which circumstances Black can get away with it.

If after 10 h4 this pawn is going to become a target instead of a weapon one alternative is 10 Qe2.

Fusilli: 10.h4 looks dubious at least. 10.Ng3 was the natural move, and again on move 12 instead of 12.f3, which looks ugly. Nepo played principled with 11...d5. Since the white knights rendered themselves marginal, a strike in the center is in order.
