  Tabanus: From he Queenslander, 18 January 1902, p. 124, which refers to B C Magazine. The date is uncertain, but may well have been 20 June, when according to Eastern Daily Press 29 June 1872 p. 3 the two played three off-hand gambit games in the absence of corporals Charlwood and Hamilton.
