Aug-20-21  wordfunph: a bloodbath.
Aug-20-21  Ulhumbrus: 19...Rxa2 makes no attempt to avoid the capture Bxf6. If Black can't afford to let his king side pawns be dislocated this suggests 19...Be7.

FSR: Surely 38...Qxb3 39.Nxb3 Rxb4 should be drawn? It looks as though Rapport was playing for a win.

FSR: <Ulhumbrus> Allowing Bxf6 gxf6 is no big deal.

saffuna: Looks like Rapport miscalculated his attack with 40...f6, thinking his rooks and quuen could mate before white broke through.

master8ch: I believe White's 31.Nxb5 is a blunder, allowing 31...Rxh2 for Black, threatening 32...Qxf2++. This same move thwarts 32.Kxh2, since 33.Kh3 loses to 33...Rxg3+, and 33.Kh1 loses to 33...Rh4+. If White plays 32.Re3, seaming to threaten taking the Rook on h2, Black can ignore him with 32...Bb7, threatening 33...Rh1++, with 33.Kxh2 losing to 33...Rh4+ and 34...Rh1++. Not even 33.Qd7+, Kf8 34.Qd8+ Kg7 saves White, since winning the Black Queen loses the White King!
