An Englishman: Good Evening: <HeHateMe>, it refers to the poker idiom "upping the ante."

The game itself surprises me because Black doesn't often win this quickly v. the Catalan esp. in the 8.a4 variation. Does 18.Bxd2,Bxe4; 19.Qxe4,Nxf2+; 20.Rxf2,Nxg3 refute the Rook capture?

Oct-06-24  goodevans: <DaeWang: So after 20 Kh2 what?>

I saw <20...Ng4+ 21.Kh1 Nxg3+ 22.Kg1 Bc5+> with mate in 2 but the engine says <20...Rxf1> is actually even quicker.

Oct-06-24  goodevans: <15.e4?> was an awful mistake which Black exploited beautifully. I particularly liked that after <18.Bxd2> Black would have one White's Q with <18...Bxe4 19.Qxe4 Nxf2+ 20.Rxf2 Nxg3+>.

A pretty finish, worthy of a place in my Game Collection: more miniatures.
