Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-26-08  Knight13: The moves after <5...Be7> makes Evans Gambit look like it's been refuted. White sacrificed one of his buddies for nothing.
Nov-27-08  Ladolcevita: I have the same feeling, but it this true that its really refuted?
Apr-14-09  WhiteRook48: 5...Be7 does not really give me that feeling
Feb-04-12  Knight13: <Ladolcevita: I have the same feeling, but it this true that its really refuted?> It must be, or else more Grandmasters would be using it today. And White's 7. Qb3 and 8. Qa4 only helps Black, and shows that White was desperate to gain something out of his lost b4 pawn. White does another desperate move, 36. Ne6, hoping that Lady Luck would appear and save him. She did not.
Mar-01-17  Big Pawn: 8. Bxf7+ Kxf7
9. Qxa5

Seems good for white. If

9...ed
10. Qd5+ Be6
11. Qxb7 dc
12. Nxc3

White has a decent gambit position.
