Sep-09-05  Gypsy: <Only if the opponent was near expiration> You mean his clock, right?
Sep-09-05  euripides: An opponent close to expiring might be well advised to spend his last gasp on <72 Nxh7> Ng4+ or Ng8+.

Phony Benoni: A little tournament background here. Coming into this round 15 game (of 21), Nimzowitsch had 7½ points, tied for 6-9 places, while Leonhardt was just behind with 7 points.

Both would finish well and move up in the standings. Nimzowitsch scored 4½/6, ending tied for fourth with Schlechter. But Leonhardt scored an incredible 6 of 6 (Vidmar, Dus Chotimirsky, Janowski, Tartakower, Duras, and Mieses) to jump ahead of him to finish third behind Rubinstein and Maroczy.
