Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-18-08  Autoreparaturwerkbau: <bidibulle> "The good and the bad bishop" - here we have a really prime example. Well observed.
Oct-08-13  Owl: And a prime example of the back rank, exposed king, and passed pawn on 6th rank
Oct-15-13  King.Arthur.Brazil: 29...Bxd4+ 30.Rxd4 Qxd4+ 31.Kh1 c2! with winner Qa1+ or Qd1+ (no scape)!
Aug-18-14  ssitimefill: 17. ...Qf4 and 22. ... b5 are very instructive.
Nov-28-14  TheBish: This game would be good for Guess the Move.
Apr-14-18  tigreton: White could have offered more resistance with 29. Qe8+ Kh7 30. Qxd7, but then would have followed the nice 30 ... Qe4!, when the strong pawn on c3 (the idea is ...c2 and ...Bb2), combined with threats to the white king, would have been decisive. At the same time, the black queen protects her king (if 31. Qxf7 c2 32. Dh5+ Kg8 and there's no more checks), an usual theme in open positions with few pieces.

plang: The game transposed into a quiet line of the Slav. 7 Qc2 was new and has not been repeated; 7 Nc3 seems stronger. Alekhine criticized 16 Rd2 as too slow recommending 16 f4 instead. 22 b4?!..b5 gave Black control of d5. 23 Qf3!? led to a loss of material but White's position was already poor.
