Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-20-05  barefootin: Amazing...Young Benjamin - virtually
the drummer boy in '79 - is already
a unique player, here practically
looking like a seasoned Grandmaster.
OK, there was no need for 15...Rfd8?
All the entrance squares were covered -there's no need to challenge on the file at that point (Simple Chess) and it's more important to break up White's bastion at e5 with 15...f6!, which Silman played next move. Problem is, his king rook then belonged on f8, so that after 17...Ne8! (rather than 17...Nb5) he could them simply evict White's pieces
with the upcoming ...Nf6!
Sep-16-08  James Demery: Barefootin`, I know you`re really Jeremy Silman; you forgot to comment on White`s devastating move 24. Even an IM could not see that coming.
Aug-31-09  James Demery: I think barefootin/Silman forgot to use the Silman Thinking Technique.
