Chessical: <7...Bxc3> allows Botvinnik to develop a formidable central bulwalk of Pawns, <7...exd5> 8. e5 Ne4 9. f3 Nxc3 10.bxc3 Be7 is better. In this variation, however, it seems difficult for Black to devop counterplay against White's centre: - Games Like Botvinnik vs M Schebarschin, 1925

<17...e6> may not the most exact move to continue the attack as it seems that Black can take the Knight with reasonable defensive chances:

<17... gxf4> 18. exd7+ Rxd7 19. Bb5 Qe3+ 20. Kh1 cxd4 21. Bxd7+ Kxd7 22. Qd1 dxc3

<21...Kb8?!>, Black has better chances of a defence by moving his King away +from the corner, <21... Kc7> 22. Ne5 fxe6 23. Bxe6 R(h)f8

<32.Rxc4!> is a neat finale to a game in which Botvinnik dominated throughout. <32. Rxa7+> Kxa7 33. Rxd5+ Kb7 34. Rxd7+ Bxd7; also wins but less effectively.

Honza Cervenka: 17.fxg6 e.p. hxg6 18.Qe2 seems to be better for white.
