Mar-26-06  Whitehat1963: There was something in the air that night/your moves weren't so bright, Fernando! Your queen was shining there for all to see/found no liberty, Fernando! La, la, la, yadda, yadda, yadda. With 12. Qa8 white had nothing to Brag about, losing all but his underwear. After a promising start, the rest of the game was all a big Hase.

All right, enough already!

tpstar: <Whitehat1963> Thank you for the music. ;>D

8 ... Rb8 is the Colman Variation where Black gives up a second Pawn to activate the Queenside pieces. 9. Bxc6+ Nxc6 10. Qxc6+ Nd7 is pretty standard, and note the Discovered Attack on the Ng5. After 11. Ne4 Black plays 11 ... Rb6 to prevent 12. Nd6+. But 12. Qa8? is a clear error because 12 ... Rb7 imprisons the Queen, then 13 ... Nb6 wins it.

Mar-26-06  Whitehat1963: Thanks, <tpstar>, for being so willing to Take a Chance on Me!
