Kibitzer's Corner
May-18-04  Whitehat1963: What's the finish?
May-18-04  solstys: The black queen has to move, so white can take the bishop on g7 with a check and then the rook on h8.
Sep-13-08  pom nasayao: The plan in 22. dxc5 was 23. c6 Nb6 24. Rxe5 Nxe5 25. Qxe5 exe5 26. Bc5 mate!
Apr-19-20  carpovius: ToTal domination!
Dec-23-22  ChessIsLife159753: Tal's 10.Rde1 (clearing d1 for the knight as well) and 11.e5! plan is very interesting. I am pretty sure he wanted to meet 11...Bxf3 with 12.exd6!! when he would have certainly felt comfortable in this position true to his style.

12.Nh4-Nxg6! was nice sacrifice, and because of Black's horrible piece placement, Tal got plenty of time to make a move such as 20.Rd1!.

Mar-26-25  vanderWayne: very last chance was 16... cd4, maybe Davy was afraid of opening the f-file 17.fg4, but in case of 17...Nde5 White has nothing after 18.Rhf1+ Kg8=, and the only way to stay in a game is 18.Be4, but it seems not quite dangerous for Black (half-a-pawn says PC)
