  Sneaky: Flear gives the following:

<10. ...e5! Now we have a real fight on our hands! If 11. de Qb6 12. Bg3 <12. e3? Qxb2!> Qxb2 13. Rc1 Bb4 14. Qd2 Qa3 gives excellent play for the pawn sacrificed, which must surely be recaptured. e.g.: 15. e3 Rd8 16. Qc2 O-O 17. Bd3 h6

or

11. e4 Bb4! 12. Bd2 ed 13. Nb1 <sadly for White as 13. Nd5 Bxd2+ 14. Qxd2 Qxd2 15. Kxd2 Nxf2 16. Rg1 Nxe4+ 17. Kd3 O-O-O is -+> >

Sneaky: I think you might summarize Torre's idea like this: black parts with his awkward Queen's bishop and mounts a quick queenside demonstration before White has castled.

This creates an equal but imbalanced position, the kind that offers Black good winning chances.

Jul-15-04  rochade18: Torre's 6..Bg4 can be seen only 6 times in this database. That doesn't mean that it is bad but 6..a6 or 6..e6 are somehow better. One of the "Reevs", I think it is Bareev who scored well in the 6..e6 line!
