Phony Benoni: Time pressure must have been really bad for White to have missed 38.Qxg8. In fact, I have to wonder if Black actually played 36...Rge8.
Aug-02-07  Benzol: <Phoney Benoni> Has the score been corrected since you last posted here?
Aug-02-07  dovif: phony I am assuming you meant QxF8, which would be reply with R e1+ winning the Q on F*

Phony Benoni: <Benzol> Yes, it looks like a correction has been made.

<dovif> You're right about Black's response to 39.Qxf8, but that wasn't the point here.

Originally, the score read 36...Rde8; had that been played, Black would still have had a rook on g8 that could have been taken after 37...Re7. Back in July 2006, when I wrote the original note, I was going through games from Lone Pine and noticed the problem. I was able to verify that Black's 36th move was indeed 36...Rge8, and sent in a correction which has been made.

Sorry about the confusion.
