Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-14-04  kostich in time: Fine was no longer in the worlds top ten by 1951(Sonas notwithstanding), but he could still play with his old precision, on occasion.

  plang: Nice positional effort - I especially like 15 Kg3 and 18 Rf1.
May-19-15  zydeco: Fine sometimes seems to win his games more easily than anyone else. This is one of three games at the Wertheim Memorial (along with Fine vs I A Horowitz, 1951 and Fine vs Bisguier, 1951) where Fine, playing against very strong masters, wins a pawn only a few moves out of the opening.

Retireborn: This game was published in a British book called something like The Bedside Book of Chess (I think one of the editors was called Edwards) and it was annotated by somebody (Heidenfeld? Not sure - memory failure.)

Anyway the star move is 18.Rf1! whereas the immediate 18.Bxc6 Rxd1! 19.Rxd1 Bxc6 20.Nxe5 Bxe4 is equal.
