  tpstar: A good set-up against 1 ... b6, with Nd2 & Ngf3 to meet ... Bb4 with c3. White's piece formation is similar to the French 3 ... de 4. Nxe4 lines, with Bg5xNf6 & 0-0-0, then a Kingside attack with h4. 12 ... d5?! created a weak backward Pawn on e6; 12 ... Ne7 intending 13 ... Nd5 & 14 ... Nf4 would improve. 17. Qg4 was strong and created the mating battery better than 17. Bc2 & 18. Qd3. If 17 ... Qxf2 18. Qg6 Qf4+ 19. Kb1 Nxe5 20. Qh7+ Kf7 21. Rhf1 Nxd3 22. Qxd3 wins the Queen, but 18. Rhf1! Qc5 19. Qg6 is quicker - 19 ... Rf5 20. Nxf5 exf5 21. Qxf5 with no defense to 22. Qh7++. 20. Rxe5! broke it open, then the quiet 22. cd! forced 22 ... Qh8 to defend g7, then 23. Qf4+ was efficient; 23 ... Ke7 24. Qxc7++, or 23 ... Kg8 24. Qg5+ Kf7 25. Bg6+ mates. Curious how the Bb7 (the whole point of Black's opening) played no role in the game.
