There are three games in the database that reached this position, and all three times White elected to castle. Do you see the problem with trying to trap Black's queen with 13.d5 and 14.Bb4?

WannaBe: <Phony Benoni> If, 13. d5 Shredder gives this line:

Phony Benoni: <WannaBe> The question is: why does Shredder avoid 14.Bb4, trapping the queen?
Nov-03-06  Prugno: <Phony Benoni> On 14. Bb4 Qf3! is very strong, leaving c4, e4 and g2 all hanging. The Queen cannot be taken because of 15. gxf3 Nxf3+ 16. Kf1 Bh3 mate. Not a very common tactical trick in this line.

FSR: Evidently Boris Gulko was not born yesterday.
