Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-02-07  Ulhumbrus: The annotator in the French book of the tournament appears to say that 16...Rb8! prevents Bb6 paralyzing Hort's game. It may be that according to the same annotator, 17..Re8 is a preparation for ...d5, answering White's King side attack by this central thrust. Perhaps a kibitzer of this website who speaks French and has seen the French book on the tournament can tell us.
Aug-06-08  Ulhumbrus: An alternative to 12..Nxd4 is 12..Ne5 heading for c4.

As 21 ...e5 will lead to Qa5, this suggests 21...b4. Then on 22 gh+ Kh8 23 h5 e5 24 Bf2 d4 avoids Qa5.

24 Qa5 ?! blockades the a pawn. Sometimes blockade work is worthy of a Queen, but possibly not always. In the event the game ends in a draw.
