Hort will now continue the attack in a very consistent and efficient way, until he obtains his deserved victory. However, if he had continued now with 21.Rxd5 Qxg1+ 22.Kc2 threatening to capture on d6 with the Rook with the intention of two immediate and different mates with the Queen on a8 or c7, Short could, without any shadow of forthcoming regrets, resign immediately

Dionysius1: Hummm. 22...Qg6+ comes to mind, after which Hort will surely win, but with 23.Kg3 followed by 24.Rxd6 Qxd6 where's your double threat of mate on a8 and c7?

(for instance 24... Qe7 25.Rxd6! etc
