Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-12-05  paladin at large: Here is one to enjoy - What a momentous decision by Karpov with 46.....Qxb3 and a very pretty and difficult ending against the white queen.
Mar-23-07  gambitfan: an excellent Scotch Game winning for Black!
Sep-03-07  Whitehat1963: Is there absolutely no hope for a draw via perpetual check?
Oct-04-12  nnnnnnnn: One of the best games by Karpov, and one of the least known!

Just study the Bishop moves, the way he relocates it,from b6 to d6 ; and then the Knight moves; then the Rook and Knight coordination in the endgame! So far in advance he judged that the a-pawn would win the game, and thus gave the Queen!

A game to study over and over again. Miguel must have been mesmerized! A true masterpiece. Please spread it around...

Jun-15-14  dernier thylacine: Just a pity Karpov had not the opportunity to play that in the 18th or 20th game of his match against Kasparov in 1990!!
Jun-15-14  dernier thylacine: Ah, I just remember: not in the 20th, because it became one of the most beautiful wins of Kasparov...
